Writer Si Spurrier and artist Tan Eng Huat are bringing us X-Men: Legacy #1 in November and taking the series to a whole new, crazy level. How crazy? The lead character for the series is none other than Professor Xavier’s son, Legion. At least, that’s what Spurrier told MTV Geek.

Surprisingly, this is Spurrier’s first ongoing writing gig with Marvel as he’s mainly written miniseries and one shots. He also explains that Legion does have a core personality and explains that this series will attempt to be a platform for readers to get to know the real David Haller (Legion).

Also, it appears that Legion will want to preserve Professor Xavier’s legacy but he may not try to reach his goals the same way that Xavier did. Legion will be looking for validation and redemption in this new X-series.

It won’t be a team book, but there will be other X-Universe and Marvel Universe characters that will show up in the series. And as far teases go, Spurrier had this to offer:

“Psychic insanity! Telepathic parasites! Golden Age characters! Multi-dimensional prison! Kirby krackles! Romance! Murder most foul! Parental Trauma! Classic villains! New villains! Sex! Drugs! Memetically altered rock music! Wraparound weirdness! Aliens! A bloody enormous crow! EVERYTHING EXPLODES!”

Will you be picking this series up? What do you think about the changes to X-Men: Legacy?
