Randy’s Reviews – Winter Soldier #15 by Jason Latour and Nick Klein from Marvel Comics

Winter Soldier #15 Review by Randy Young

Randy from Excalibur Comics here again. Last time I reviewed a few of the number ones that came out this past week. This time I’d like to review some comics that while they aren’t new, they may have a new creative team on them, or they’re at the beginning of a new story line, or they’re just too awesome of a story to ignore.

Next is Winter Soldier #15.

Again, a book that has a new creative team. The writer is Jason Latour – he’s done some Wolverine and a book called Loose Ends, both of which I haven’t read, so I’m completely new to his writing.

And Nick Klein is handling the art. He was previously the artist on the Image Series Dancer – which I loved – and you should definitely check out.

Latour picks up right where Ed Brubaker left off. Bucky, he’s drowning his sorrows over the events that happened at the end of Brubaker’s run. He’s going around and apologizing to people, hurting a lot of people, apologizing to some people that he’s wronged in some way, hurt, harmed, killed their family, or has done something. Nick fury has a problem with it because most people think that Bucky’s dead and he’s suppose to be hush-hush, quiet, covert.

But that’s not really at all going through Bucky’s head right now. So, Nick Fury instead gives him a little pep talk and points him in the direction that he thinks Barnes should go in. The transition between this creative team…it’s so seamless but it’s still a great jumping on point for new readers.
