Randy’s Reviews – Superior Spider-Man #3 by Dan Slott and Ryan Stegman from Marvel Comics

Superior Spider-Man #3 Review by Randy Young

Randy from Excalibur Comics here again. Last time I reviewed a few of the number ones that came out this past week. This time I’d like to review some comics that while they aren’t new, they may have a new creative team on them, or they’re at the beginning of a new story line, or they’re just too awesome of a story to ignore.

Superior Spider-Man #3 Review

First up is Superior Spiderman #3.

This is how I feel the book should have started off. After the last issue, it was real Peter-Parker-ghost heavy. I didn’t care for it, I thought it was the wrong direction the book was going. We finally get an issue that’s focusing more on Doc Ock learning what it means to be Spider-Man.

Dan Slott starts off taking a shot at Batman in a hilarious scene that involves Spider-Man, J. Jonah Jameson, and a spider signal. You’ll love it

While that was great, it wasn’t the best part of this book. The Doc “Spidey” learning what it means to be Spider-Man in this issue, that’s what’s awesome.

He takes on the Vulture, who he’s had a previous work relationship with, and gets to kind of see the villain through Spider-Man’s eyes, really for the first time. I kind of hope that this is more of what this series is going to be like unless there’s a villain inhabiting Peter Parker’s body and Peter needs to get it back. Anyways, it is a really good read.
